ADAPT BLOODWORKIN DEVELOPMENT

Low testosterone

Five ingredients, taken with breakfast, for one situation a blood test has to confirm first: total testosterone below 300 ng/dl. Only one of them, zinc, carries an authorised EU claim about testosterone. The formula is still in development, it is never assigned to women, and it runs for 8 weeks before a new test decides what comes next.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND IT

Four of these five have an authorised claim. Only one is about testosterone.

In the EU, only a short list of health claims is authorised. Zinc is on it for the maintenance of normal testosterone levels, and that is the only claim in this formula that mentions testosterone. Copper, vitamin D and magnesium are on the list for other functions. Ashwagandha is not on it at all. We show you each one as it stands, not one sentence that sounds the same for all five.

Zinc

AUTHORISED CLAIM

WHAT WE ARE ALLOWED TO SAY

“Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal testosterone levels in the blood.”

Regulation (EU) 432/2012, on a product that is at least a source of zinc, which means 15% of the NRV per dose. This formula carries 15 mg, 150%. The dose was brought down to keep zinc and copper at 10 to 1. It is 60% of the EFSA upper limit of 25 mg a day, so the engine keeps a running total of your zinc across formulas. The German BfR suggests 6.5 mg for a supplement; this formula is above that.

Copper

AUTHORISED CLAIM

WHAT WE ARE ALLOWED TO SAY

“Copper contributes to the normal function of the immune system.”

Regulation (EU) 432/2012. Copper is not here for that claim. It is here because zinc taken every day for weeks can lower the copper you absorb, and our rules ask for at least 1 mg of copper whenever zinc reaches 15 mg a day. 1.5 mg keeps the two at 10 to 1. EFSA sets no number for that ratio: it is our own design choice, taken from the nutrition literature. The upper limit is 5 mg a day. The German BfR suggests 1 mg for a supplement, which this formula passes. Our file does not yet hold a reference value for copper, so we cannot show you a percentage.

Vitamin D3

AUTHORISED CLAIM

WHAT WE ARE ALLOWED TO SAY

“Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones.”

Regulation (EU) 432/2012, on a product that is at least a source of vitamin D. The NRV is only 5 µg, so 50 µg reads as 1,000%. None of vitamin D's authorised claims is about testosterone. Our file includes it for hormone support, with no claim to back that, so we make none. 50 µg is half the EFSA upper limit of 100 µg a day, and above the 20 µg the German BfR suggests for a supplement.

Reg. 432/2012 · EFSA Journal 2009;7(9):1227 · NRV 5 µg · UL 100 µg · 12 sources on file

Ashwagandha

NO AUTHORISED CLAIM

WHAT WE ARE ALLOWED TO SAY

Nothing. Ashwagandha has no authorised EU claim, so we attribute no effect to it.

It is here because a trial on file gave men doing resistance training 600 mg a day for 8 weeks and measured a 14.7% rise in total testosterone. That is where the dose and the length of this cycle come from. It is a reason to include it, not a permission to promise anything. Rare cases of liver injury are documented, several European countries have issued warnings, Denmark does not allow it on free sale, and France's food safety agency, ANSES, adds contraindications of its own. 600 mg is the informal safety ceiling in our library, so it leaves no room for ashwagandha from any other formula.

Magnesium

AUTHORISED CLAIM

WHAT WE ARE ALLOWED TO SAY

“Magnesium contributes to normal functioning of the nervous system.”

Regulation (EU) 432/2012, on a product that is at least a source of magnesium, which means 15% of the NRV per dose. 200 mg is 53%, as bisglycinate, the form our notes prefer because it is gentle on the gut. It is the claim this formula is filed under, and it says nothing about testosterone. Our library records magnesium as a cofactor in the steps that activate vitamin D, and the pair as one to formulate together. The upper limit for magnesium from supplements is 250 mg a day, so 200 mg leaves no room for another formula that carries it.

HOW IT IS POURED

Six pulses. Set by your blood test, not by last night.

The full dose of this formula is 1.2 ml, which the device serves as six pulses of 0.2 ml. For some formulas, your band decides how many. For this one, no wearable marker in our library moves the dose: the plan on file is the full dose every morning for 8 weeks, then a new test. Zinc and copper sit in the same liquid, so whatever is poured, they stay at 10 to 1.

MORNING, WITH BREAKFAST

Why then

Testosterone is made on a daily rhythm and peaks in the morning, so our file puts this formula in your first window. On their own, our notes on ashwagandha and on bisglycinate magnesium would each lean to the evening. Here they go out in the morning, with the rest.

WITH YOUR BREAKFAST

Why with food

Vitamin D3 dissolves in fat, and our reference file puts the gain in absorption with a meal that has some fat in it at 32–50%. Ashwagandha is easier on the stomach with food. Zinc is absorbed a little better away from meals, but a light meal helps if it makes you queasy. Keep dairy out of this breakfast: calcium competes with zinc.

45 ML CARTRIDGE

How long it lasts

At 1.2 ml a morning it is up to 37 mornings. One 8-week cycle is 56, so a full cycle takes a second cartridge. The app orders your refill from what you actually took.

HOW IT ENTERS YOUR PLAN

An ADAPT formula starts with a blood test. This one needs a confirmed result.

ADAPT is the part of your plan that follows your bloodwork. It goes in when a result is out of range, runs for a fixed period at a fixed dose, and comes out when a new test says so.

  1. 01

It starts with a confirmed low result

Telling us in your questionnaire that your testosterone is low points the engine to this formula, but it is never used without a confirmed blood result: a total testosterone below 300 ng/dl. Testosterone is not yet on the blood panel we work from. It is never assigned to women, and your answers on health and medication are checked before it goes in.

  2. 02

    It runs for 8 weeks

56 days at the full dose, the shortest length at which the trials on file measured an effect. The ashwagandha in it is never given for longer than that in one go, and the engine blocks ashwagandha after 90 days of use without a break. Nothing about this formula moves inside that window.

  3. 03

The next test decides what follows

At 8 weeks you repeat total testosterone, with SHBG, oestradiol and PSA. If it has responded, a CORE formula takes over to maintain it. If nothing has moved by 12 weeks, the next step is an endocrinologist, to find out why.

  4. 04

A 4-week pause, and no more than three cycles a year

If a cycle is repeated, 28 days pass between the two, with your blood markers watched, and there are never more than three cycles in a year. The 4-week pause is our own decision; ANSES sets no number for it. The three-cycle limit is a precaution for your liver and hormones, taken from the French opinion on file.

SAFETY AND INTERACTIONS

What it never shares a morning with.

Every pair of ingredients in our library is checked against the others before a plan is built. Inside this formula, 3 of the 10 possible pairs are documented, all three as complementary, and zinc and copper are held by a rule of their own. This is what the check rules out.

NEVER TOGETHER

Chronic cortisol · Daily athletic · Stress & nervous system

Chronic cortisol and Daily athletic each carry 600 mg of ashwagandha, and Stress & nervous system carries 300 mg. The 600 mg here already sits at the informal safety ceiling in our library, so any of them on top would pass it, and at 1,200 mg a day the engine blocks the addition outright. It also tracks how long you have taken ashwagandha without a break. All three carry magnesium too.

COUNTED TOGETHER

Magnesium, zinc and vitamin D3

Nine other VION formulas carry magnesium, from 100 to 200 mg. Any one of them on the same day as this one would pass the 250 mg upper limit for supplemental magnesium, so the engine will not add it. Zinc is counted against 25 mg a day and vitamin D3 against 100 µg, which rules out D3 / K2 at 62.5 µg. The zinc-to-copper ratio is checked on your whole plan, not only inside this formula.

TALK TO A DOCTOR FIRST

Not for everyone

Never assigned to women. It is excluded if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18, have prostate cancer, liver disease or raised liver enzymes, heart disease, a thyroid disorder (including an overactive thyroid or Graves' disease) or hyperandrogenism, or if you take sedatives, a vitamin K antagonist such as warfarin or acenocoumarol, or drugs that can harm the liver, such as regular paracetamol, isoniazid or methotrexate. It is never used without a confirmed low testosterone result. Do not take it with immunosuppressants such as tacrolimus or ciclosporin, or after a transplant, and avoid it if you have Wilson's disease. Do not take it with St John's wort. Do not use intranasal zinc products while taking it: they carry a risk of permanent loss of smell. Never take activated charcoal in the same dose as this formula, and keep it at least 3 hours away. Keep konjac glucomannan, psyllium and white clay at least 2 hours away, and the same for iron supplements of 25 mg or more, calcium of 500 mg or more, and strong coffee or tea. Stop it at any sign of liver trouble: yellowing skin, unusual tiredness, abdominal pain. Stop it 2 weeks before planned surgery. Ask a doctor first if you have an autoimmune condition (lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, Hashimoto's), a heart rhythm problem, heart block or a slow heart rate, kidney disease (with advanced kidney disease, not at all), myasthenia gravis, haemochromatosis, Menkes disease, sarcoidosis, lymphoma, primary hyperparathyroidism, granulomatous tuberculosis, high blood calcium or calcium kidney stones, histamine intolerance, a lost sense of smell, or cancer or cancer treatment, including a hormone-sensitive tumour. The same applies if you take thyroid hormone (keep magnesium 4 hours away from levothyroxine), other anticoagulants such as apixaban or antiplatelets, benzodiazepines or other psychiatric medication, or drink alcohol with it; diabetes or blood pressure medication, calcium-channel blockers, diuretics, digoxin, steroids, statins, orlistat or anti-epileptics (phenytoin, phenobarbital, carbamazepine); penicillamine (1 hour apart), bisphosphonates, or tetracycline and quinolone antibiotics (at least 2 hours apart; quinolones 2 hours before or 4–6 hours after); cisplatin, aminoglycosides or amphotericin B; antacids or long-term acid reducers (PPIs); or other supplements with zinc, copper, vitamin D, magnesium, vitamin A as retinol, kava, green tea extract, iodine-rich seaweed, L-tyrosine, ginseng, rhodiola or tulsi. The vitamin D3 is not vegan. Do not exceed the daily dose, keep out of reach of young children, and do not use it in place of a varied, balanced diet. The app asks before it ever assigns this one.

WHAT IS NOT PROVEN YET

This formula is still in development and has not completed clinical validation. Zinc is the only ingredient in it with an authorised EU claim about testosterone, the ashwagandha rests on a trial on file rather than a claim, and the combination itself has not been tested by us. Testosterone is not yet on the blood panel we work from. The 4-week pause is our own clinical decision; the three-cycle limit follows the French opinion on file. When the formula is tested, the result goes on this page, whatever it says.

The questionnaire and your first weeks of data decide which six of the 29 end up in your device. This page exists so you can read what one of them is before that happens.
