BLEEDING RISK FLAGGED
Cognitive & focus
That formula carries 120 mg of ginkgo. Ginkgo and curcumin both slow your platelets down, and our library only pairs them below 120 mg of ginkgo and 100 mg of curcumin, which these doses are not. Any plan with two such ingredients is flagged for bleeding risk, and blocked if you are on anticoagulants. The resveratrol in Systemic inflammation and Oxidative cardiovascular counts too.
OVERLAP TO WATCH
Systemic inflammation · Cardiovascular
Systemic inflammation carries the same 500 mg of curcumin, 5 mg of piperine and 2,000 mg of EPA + DHA. Our internal maximum for enhanced-absorption curcumin is 200 mg a day, in line with the provisional EFSA/JECFA acceptable daily intake of 3 mg per kg of body weight, about 210 mg for a 70 kg adult. The 500 mg in this formula is already above it; running both curcumin formulas takes you to 1,000 mg, five times that maximum. Your EPA + DHA would reach 4,000 mg, and the 1,500 mg in Cardiovascular on top of that makes 5,500 mg, past the 5,000 mg upper limit. That arithmetic is information. The accumulation rule on file names seven vitamins and minerals; what it does with curcumin or EPA + DHA is not written down yet, and that is one of the things clinical validation has to settle.
TALK TO A DOCTOR FIRST
Not for everyone
Not for you if you take an anticoagulant, including warfarin, acenocoumarol, apixaban or dabigatran; if you take several medicines at once; if you are having chemotherapy; if you have liver disease; if you have a stomach ulcer or reflux; if you have a blocked bile duct or gallstones that cause symptoms; if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; if you are under 18; or if you are allergic to fish. The piperine is the reason for three of those: our library blocks it outright for polypharmacy and for chemotherapy, and says to avoid it with an ulcer or reflux. Do not combine this formula with anticoagulants or with aspirin without a healthcare professional: that warning sits on the boswellia label. Ask a doctor first if you take antiplatelets such as clopidogrel, diabetes or blood pressure medication, statins, ciclosporin, tacrolimus or other immunosuppressants, digoxin, talinolol or other P-gp substrate medicines, phenytoin, carbamazepine, theophylline, propranolol, rifampicin, lithium, SSRIs or SNRIs, tamoxifen, amlodipine, antiretrovirals, the contraceptive pill or other oestrogens, aluminium antacids, proton pump inhibitors or deferoxamine; or if you are in cancer treatment other than chemotherapy. Piperine changes how your body handles many medicines, so bring the full list. Ask first too if you have a bleeding disorder, kidney disease or kidney stones, haemochromatosis, thalassaemia or another iron overload, iron-deficiency anaemia, G6PD deficiency, or histamine intolerance. Stop it at least two weeks before planned surgery. Stop it and see a doctor if you notice yellowing skin or eyes, unusual tiredness, abdominal pain or dark urine, and see one too if your symptoms last more than two weeks. It contains fish and is not suitable for vegans or vegetarians. Do not exceed the dose, do not use it in place of a varied and balanced diet, and keep it out of reach of young children. The app asks before it ever suggests this one.
