NEVER ON THE SAME DAY
Relax & fast sleep
The BOOST sleep formula also carries 1 mg of melatonin and 200 mg of magnesium. Together that would be 2 mg of melatonin, over the 1 mg a day on file and the 1.9 mg a day allowed in Spain without a prescription, and 400 mg of magnesium, over the 250 mg a day limit for supplemental magnesium. This formula on its own already sits at that 1 mg melatonin ceiling. The engine's upper-limit rule blocks adding a formula that would pass the magnesium limit, so the two are not combined.
COUNTED TOGETHER
Every other magnesium formula
Nine other VION formulas carry 100 to 200 mg of magnesium, Bones & joints among them, also at night. Any of them on the same day as this one would pass the 250 mg a day limit for supplemental magnesium, so the engine will not add it. The limit is a daily total, so moving a dose to another window does not change it. Formulas with caffeine or other stimulants are kept at least 8 hours away from this one. With Cognitive & focus, which carries another 200 mg of L-theanine, your day would reach 400 mg: the ceiling the L-theanine file sets for combined use, and above the 250 mg a day upper level recorded for it in our regulatory table.
NOT FOR YOU IF
Or ask a doctor first
Not for you if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have liver disease or an autoimmune condition such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis or MS, or take a vitamin K antagonist such as warfarin, whose effect melatonin can raise (INR); the app checks for these before it ever assigns this one. Not for advanced kidney disease either. Never with alcohol, sleeping pills, benzodiazepines, opioids or other sedatives. It can make you drowsy: do not drive or use machinery for 4–5 hours after it. Ask a doctor first if you are under 18; have myasthenia gravis, a high-grade heart block or another heart condition, epilepsy, diabetes, low blood pressure or histamine intolerance; are having cancer treatment (ask your oncologist); or take other anticoagulants, antidiabetics, immunosuppressants, beta-blockers, blood pressure medication, psychiatric medication, MAO inhibitors, fluvoxamine, ciprofloxacin or the contraceptive pill. Keep bisphosphonates and tetracycline antibiotics at least 2 hours apart from it, and have your magnesium checked if you have taken a proton pump inhibitor for more than three months. Stop it 1–2 weeks before surgery under general anaesthesia. If trouble sleeping or tension lasts more than 2 weeks, see a doctor, and see one before taking melatonin for more than 4 weeks. Do not exceed the daily dose, keep out of reach of young children, and do not use it in place of a varied, balanced diet.
